FALL SALMON

AUGUST - OCTOBER

topography.jpg

Here in the Pacific Northwest, this is the largest fish run.  We seek high-quality King and Coho Salmon.  This is an iconic NW fishery.  In early August, these fish travel back from the Pacific Ocean to the Columbia River, in order to return to where they were born. We begin the season by fishing near the mouth of the Columbia River out of Astoria in August.  This is a famous part of the season known as, “Buoy 10,” – the “Super Bowl” of salmon fishing! This is fishing large areas of river, trolling- using fresh bait, and catching big salmon, up to 30 lbs.! It is a definite experience you’ll never forget!

As September approaches, the Salmon begin migrating up the Columbia River. We chase them all the way up through the Columbia River Gorge and into the tributaries. At this time we begin using lures and salmon eggs that entice these fish to bite. There are multiple different methods we use to put fish in your freezer – all which make these trips both exciting and productive. We continue to catch the fall run of Salmon into the end of October.
